The Blackhawk Network Compliance Department is looking for a full-time Associate Regulatory Compliance Analyst. This person will support business partner reviews, anti-money laundering (AML) work, ongoing monitoring, and BHN Commerce Distributor Partner Oversight. The role helps make sure our business partners are legitimate, understand and follow our requirements, and are monitored throughout the relationship. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, resourceful, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Review new and existing business partners as part of BHN’s Know Your Business (KYB) and AML process.
• Check company details, ownership information, sanctions screening results, and other records to help confirm a business is legitimate and fits within BHN’s risk guidelines.
• Review transaction monitoring alerts and other reports to spot unusual or potentially suspicious activity.
• Document findings clearly and escalate concerns based on established procedures.
• Help investigate red flags found through transaction reviews, partner activity, negative news, or ongoing monitoring.
• Help prepare, review, and submit monthly reports, metrics, and partner oversight updates for management, Compliance, bank partners, and other internal teams, as needed.
• Support ongoing monitoring of distributor partners and other assigned business relationships, including periodic reviews, updates to customer information, review of business or ownership changes, and updates to risk ratings when needed.
• Review partner activity to make sure it matches the approved business purpose and expected product use.
• Keep complete, accurate, and audit-ready records of reviews, monitoring, alerts, escalations, and decisions in BHN systems and files.
• Work with teams across Compliance, Risk, Sales, Onboarding, Operations, and Legal to gather information, resolve issues, and support risk mitigation efforts.
• Support sanctions screening, client migration work, process improvements, procedure updates, and other compliance projects as needed.
• Help prepare for audits, regulatory reviews, bank partner requests, and compliance testing by organizing records and support documents.
• Look for ways to improve KYB, transaction monitoring, and ongoing oversight processes, including using reporting tools, workflow systems, and new technology effectively.
• General knowledge of anti-money laundering, sanctions, risk management, internal audit, or compliance is preferred.
• Basic understanding of KYB/KYC, beneficial ownership, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, ongoing monitoring, and escalation of suspicious activity.
• Ability to review transactions and reports, spot red flags or unusual activity, and raise concerns clearly and on time.
• Experience helping prepare recurring reports, including monthly reporting and metric tracking.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review information objectively and make sound, fact-based decisions.
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good judgment and ability to work independently while also collaborating well with others.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize findings and document escalations clearly.
• Comfortable learning and using new systems, tools, and technology, including monitoring, case management, and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• 90% English level.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, AML or compliance programs, transaction monitoring, investigations, internal audit, risk management, partner due diligence, or public accounting preferred.
• Experience working with external partners or clients preferred.
• Certifications such as CIA, CAMS, CFCS, CPA, or CRCM are a plus.
