Overview:

This is a 12-month fixed term contract to provide maternity cover within the Creative team.

The role will appeal to a designer looking to create and develop innovative concepts, designs and production-ready artwork across a broad range of media channels throughout the EMEA region as part of a Global team.

We are seeking a strong, results-focused designer with 4+ years’ experience in an agency, studio or in-house creative environment, excellent stakeholder management skills and a passion for delivering creative work that achieves business objectives. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with strong conceptual thinking, first-class design and production skills, and the ability to engage confidently with teams across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will combine strong creative judgement with curiosity, commercial awareness and a desire to continually improve both their craft and the way teams work.

Due to the nature of this role, we are seeking an experienced designer who can quickly become an effective contributor within the team, confidently manage projects and stakeholders, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.

This role follows our hybrid working model, with an expectation of attending our Apsley office a minimum of two days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Take, develop and respond to briefs from internal stakeholders.
  • Develop creative ideas and deliver work that is engaging, strategically considered, on-brand and within brand guidelines.
  • Support marketing with ideas that contribute to campaigns, products and experiences that help BHN achieve its growth objectives.
  • Create production-ready artwork across a range of print requirements including packaging, point-of-sale materials, direct mail, events, advertising and sales collateral.
  • Create assets to support digital marketing activity including websites, email, social media, presentations, digital advertising and product mock-ups.
  • Work collaboratively across Creative, Marketing, Product and Commercial teams to drive standards of creativity and effectiveness.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistency of tone, visual identity and messaging across all branded content and products.
  • Maintain high standards and ensure only the highest quality work is released.
  • Manage projects from brief through to delivery, including supporting with estimates for effort, balancing priorities and communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Continuously challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and scalability without compromising quality.
  • Support reporting and measurement activities that help demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of creative output.
  • Stay informed of developments in design, marketing, technology and creative tools, sharing relevant insights with the wider team.
  • Explore and apply AI-supported creative workflows where appropriate to enhance ideation, prototyping, content generation, production efficiency and scale, while maintaining strong creative judgement, brand integrity and quality control.
  • Bring external perspectives, inspiration and best practices that help drive innovation within the team.
  • Display positive examples of BHN values and behaviours at all times.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • 4+ years’ experience within an agency, studio or in-house creative environment.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence, conceptual thinking and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Cloud skills, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Strong understanding of both print and digital design processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence constructively when required.
  • Experience managing projects from brief through to delivery.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • A healthy interest in the wider aspects of design and its application, with a passion for sharing knowledge and learning from others.
  • An appetite for continuous improvement and professional development.

 

Desirable

  • Motion graphics and animation experience.
  • UX/UI design experience.
  • Photography, video editing or content creation experience.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience using project management and workflow tools.
  • Experience using AI-enabled creative tools such as Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Runway, ElevenLabs, Google Flow or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of how AI and automation can support creative ideation, production workflows and operational efficiency.

Requirements (E):

Preferred

  • Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design or a related creative discipline.
  • Or
  • Equivalent professional experience demonstrating a strong understanding of design principles, typography, branding, visual communication and creative problem solving.

 

Commercial & Creative Judgement

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of design fundamentals, visual communication, typography, branding and creative problem solving.
  • Balances creative exploration with commercial realities including deadlines, budgets, stakeholder expectations and business objectives.
  • Comfortable constructively challenging briefs to ensure objectives, scope, timelines and resources are aligned.
  • Understands when to experiment, when to optimise and when to execute.
  • Able to articulate and rationalise creative decisions to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates strong time management and prioritisation skills, delivering high-quality work within agreed deadlines.

 

Portfolio Requirement

  • A portfolio showcasing relevant commercial design work must be provided as part of the application.
  • Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Excellent execution across both digital and print channels.
  • Evidence of brand development, campaign creation and production-ready artwork.
  • Attention to detail, typography and visual hierarchy.
