Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive HR support to BHN’s El Salvador (ELS) office. This role partners closely with people leaders to advise on employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement, while ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies.

 

The Senior HR Generalist supports the execution of BHN’s annual talent programs, including goal setting and performance review cycles. The ideal candidate is self‑driven, highly organized, and results‑oriented, with a proven ability to operate in a customer‑centric environment and effectively engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with people leaders and employees across the ELS office.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on El Salvador labor and employment laws, ensuring compliance in HR practices and employee relations matters.
  • Advise and support leaders on a wide range of employee relations issues, from routine to highly complex, aligning with company values, policies, and processes.
  • Partner with Payroll, HR Operations, and Talent Acquisition on promotions, salary changes, position updates, and employee data accuracy.
  • Support and enhance existing employee engagement initiatives; design and implement new programs to improve employee retention and overall engagement.
  • Participate in and support company‑wide talent processes, including goal setting, performance management, and annual review cycles.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead or support special projects and ad hoc assignments in alignment with broader HR and corporate initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of El Salvador labor laws and employment practices.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience managing employee relations cases ranging from simple to complex, within a professional or corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development, implementation, and periodic review.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high‑quality work with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) — required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Process‑improvement mindset and comfort working with AI‑enabled tools and technologies.
