Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Manager(s), the Billing Analysts play a key role in supporting all billing-related functions within the shared services finance department. This position is responsible for executing billing operations, supporting collection activities, preparing reporting deliverables, assisting with client audits, and performing daily cash applications.
Billing Analysts are also expected to proactively identify process gaps or issues impacting billing accuracy, timeliness, or client experience, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve and mitigate these concerns. The role may include participation in special projects aligned with individual skill sets, business priorities, and resource availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Account Management, clients, and cross‑functional departments to proactively resolve billing and collection issues while maintaining strong client satisfaction
  • Prepares and reviews invoices for an assigned portfolio to ensure billing accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual requirements
  • Conduct systematic audits of client receivable activity to validate data integrity and identify discrepancies
  • Supports the monthly close process by partnering with the Accounting Dept. to identify and communicate required billing‑related accruals
  • Utilizes multiple reporting systems to perform detailed transaction research and provide data‑driven insights
  • Assists management with special projects and ad hoc assignments aligned with business needs

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, professional correspondence and maintain high levels of client satisfaction, particularly through email.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, refine, and enhance processes and procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Proficient in PC applications, Excel, and financial systems, with experience navigating AP portals and related billing platforms.
  • Skilled in managing sensitive client interactions with professionalism, diplomacy, and sound judgment, particularly when addressing billing‑related concerns.

Requirements (E):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent experience or equivalent billing experience.
  • Substantial experience in client support including reconciliation of account balances and amounts due.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in billing in a commercial environment.
