Overview:

We seek a skilled 3D Fixture Design Manager to help support the design and development of manufacturing fixtures for the Gift Card industry. Responsible for ensuring projects from concept to delivery are executed on time, within budget, and meet all quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of 3D CAD software, to help in the Sales Development of new design opportunities, and manufacturing processes with our manufacture partners. We are looking for someone with project management skills, with a focus on optimizing fixture design for efficiency and accuracy. This role will report to a Sr. Creative Director.

 

Responsibilities:

Fixture Design:

  • Create detailed 3D models & renderings of manufacturing fixtures using CAD software (Autodesk 3ds Max preferred) to meet specific product rendering request.
  • Incorporate design for manufacturability (DFM) principles to optimize fixture functionality and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Develop technical drawings and documentation for fixture fabrication and assembly to help with partnership of manufacturing.
  • Conduct design reviews with Supplier engineering teams to ensure fixture alignment with product specifications and production needs. 

 

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple fixture design projects simultaneously, tracking timelines, designing within budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, engineering, manufacturing, and quality control to ensure project alignment. 
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. 
  • Communicate project status updates to stakeholders and proactively address any issues. 

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles and their application in fixture design. 
  • Understanding of various manufacturing processes including millwork, machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication is plus.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting product design data to create efficient fixture solutions. 

 

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Sales, account managers, manufacturing engineers to ensure fixture designs are compatible with production equipment. 
  • Collaborate with quality engineers to incorporate necessary inspection features into fixture designs. 
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing team during fixture implementation and troubleshooting. 
  • Have a great can-do attitude, and willingness to work with many internal and external resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Design Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in 3D fixture design, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. 
  • Expert proficiency in Autodesk 3ds Max ,or equivalent CAD software. 
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability principles. 
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
